How to delete your HelpMe account
App: HelpMe (app.helpme.mobile) · Developer: Stefano Salustri
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Method 1 — In the app (immediate)
- Open HelpMe and go to Profile
- Tap Policy & GDPR
- Tap Delete account, enter your current password and tap Delete to confirm
Your account and data are deleted immediately, except for what is listed below under “What may be retained”.
Method 2 — By email (if you can no longer access the app)
Email support@helpmeapp.pro with the subject “Account deletion”, from the email address you registered with. We process the request within 30 days and confirm by email.
What is deleted
- Account and sign-in credentials, including email and phone number
- Profile (first name, last name, alias, biography, city, date of birth)
- Published listings, including any photos
- Chat messages and reviews (except copies of reported content, see below)
- One-to-one chats you were part of, in full: they also disappear for the other person, including that person's messages. The group chats of activities you organised disappear for all participants; in group chats organised by others, only your messages are deleted
- Suggestions and problem reports sent from the app
- Push notification tokens
What may be retained after deletion
- Technical backup copies: deleted automatically within 30 days
- Copies of reported content, visible only to staff: when someone reports a message, we keep a copy of the message with up to 50 previous and up to 10 following messages of the same conversation, including messages from the other participants; when someone reports a listing, a review or a person, a copy of that content. They are kept for 6 months from the report, even if the people who wrote them delete their accounts, and are then deleted automatically, except those needed for a complaint to, or an investigation by, the authorities, or for legal proceedings. If one of your messages ended up in one of these copies, its copy may therefore remain after deletion, normally for up to 6 months.
- Reports you submitted and their copies: the copy is kept for 6 months from the report and the report for 6 months after it is closed, no longer linked to your account, because they protect the person who suffered the abuse.
- Reports about you: they remain in the staff log until 6 months after they are closed, no longer linked to your profile (only the internal ID of the old account remains, which no longer corresponds to any account), and are then deleted automatically, except those needed for a complaint to, or an investigation by, the authorities, or for legal proceedings.
- Fingerprints (codes derived from the data) of all emails and phone numbers used with the account, in two cases, to prevent re-registration by suspended or banned people and to recognise people who sign up again while a report is open:
- if a suspension or ban is active at the time of deletion: they remain for the suspension period (up to 30 days) or, for a permanent ban, while the ban remains in force, with no predetermined expiry;
- if, at the time of deletion, there is at least one report about you that has not yet been assessed: they remain for 6 months, only to recognise you. You can register again, but if you do so within those 6 months the new account is flagged to staff; if staff uphold none of the reports that are still open, the fingerprints are deleted immediately.
- Technical and security logs (such as moderation decisions, with the internal account ID): 12 months, then deleted automatically by the monthly clean-up, including the technical log of account deletions.
- Technical error reports (diagnostics): no more than 30 days.
- Suggestions and problem reports sent from the app: deleted with the account; the redacted email that staff receive about them stays in the support mailbox for no more than 24 months.
- Data that must be retained by law
